It's that time of month again, the time I get my Birchbox! As you may recall, I was quite disappointed with March's Birchbox, and I felt the same about my April box, so I am glad to see that my May box is brilliant! I'm so happy with the products.
My box is beautiful- it has this stunning marbled design on it which is lovely. From left to right, I received the OCC Lip Tar Lip Primer, The POREfessional Matte Rescue Primer by Benefit, Doucce Punk Volumiser Mascara, Kueshi Shine and Volume Hair Mask and a Marsk mineral eyeshadow in the shade "Vanilla Frosting". I have used or heard about three of these products, so I was glad to see the products are well-loved within the beauty community.
I haven't yet used my Lip Primer as I am planning on using it when I am going to wear red lipstick, but I am so excited to try it out as I've heard so many things about it! It's so hard to find, so I came to terms with the fact I am never going to have it, when it suddenly came in my Birchbox! I am so surprised and I can't wait to try it out- I will do a review on it when I do try it.
Next, my POREfessional Matte Rescue Primer is a primer I've had up and down days with. I originally bought this primer instead of The POREfessional (the original one) as I felt that the consistency of the original caused me to use and waste more product. I was also intrigued by the "Matte Rescue"- I have horrible combination skin and I thought I might as well try this. It has its ups and downs - some days it makes me look poreless and slightly less shiny and other days it does nothing whatsoever for my skin.
The Doucce Punk Volumiser Mascara was a product I had never heard of and I didn't have high hopes for this mascara at all. Then I tried it on and I was blown away by how long yet natural my eyelashes looked. I took pictures of me wearing this mascara and my Marsk mineral eyeshadow and I loved them both!
The mascara itself doesn't volumise my lashes as much as I expected but it definitely lengthens them which is what I love!
As you can see, my lashes are super long for a "volumising" mascara and I absolutely love the natural look this mascara creates! I have my Marsk eyeshadow on too. It is in the colour "Vanilla Frosting" which I got to pick for my box. I picked this colour as it is a lovely shimmery white colour which can be used as a highlight and looks beautiful on the eyes! I was also really impressed with the staying power of this eyeshadow - I assumed because it is mineral that it would disappear within an hour but it is 6pm now and still looks lovely.
The final product that I have heard people raving over is this Kueshi Shine and Volume Mask. This product is currently out of stock on the Birchbox website and people are being added to a queue, which makes me hope that the mask is so good! As we are now coming into summer, my hair is still lacklustre and feels a bit brittle after the winter, so I really hope that this mask does what it says and helps restore my hair.
