I love the matte look, but I also love the glossy look. I find matte liquid lipsticks too drying on my lips, so I use a thin layer of Vaseline under my all-time favourite liquid lipsticks that I am constantly rotating.
The first matte liquid lipstick I love is my Jeffree Star liquid lipstick in the shade 'Calabasas' (and no, the fact the Kardashians also live in Calabasas did not make me buy this product, but it did draw me to it). This retails for £16 from the Beauty Bay website, but I did get it during a Black Friday event, where it was either £11.20 or £14.80. It is described as a "matte rosy red", and personally I think it is more of a muted dark-pink tone.
The only con I have with this is that it takes so long to dry down fully matte, but if this isn't a problem for you then I recommend it. What I love about this colour is that it's so versatile, it can be worn with or without a full-glam look and still look gorgeous.
I then have my NYX soft-matte lip cream in the shade 'Sao Paolo' which is described as being a plum-pink.
This is semi-matte, which is so much more moisturising and I love it! However, you do need a few coats to really make this colour opaque.
Next, I love my NYX soft-matte lip cream in the shade 'Cannes' which is described as a muted mauve. It doesn't dry down to the exact colour that is swatched, however it is such a beautiful nude tone.
Again, this colour isn't as opaque as it could be and does require a few layers, but it is a lovely colour. It also smells amazing, it has a light vanilla smell. I also have a review on the soft-matte lip creams that I done in May 2017.
Makeup Forever are not a brand I ever associated with liquid lipstick, however I picked their liquid matte lipstick up in Debenhams at the Beauty Event and absolutely loved it. I got the shade 101 Cream Beige and I really want to try more shades as this one is so creamy and so moisturising, I love it! This cost me £17.50, which is pretty steep for a lipstick, but it is such a pretty, unique colour and I can see me getting a lot of use out of it.
It also dries down super quickly and is so true to swatches.
My final favourite liquid lipstick is one I would use more as a lip topper than a matte liquid lipstick, and it is the Metallic Matte Me from Sleek in the colour 'Rusted Rose' and it is grown on me so much! I done a first impressions on it and decided I wasn't a massive fan, but from trying it out again, I can say I am. I wore this all throughout party season, and I will continue to do so! I wouldn't suggest wearing this on its own, but it looks lovely when paired with a lipstick.
